Fully Known and Fully Loved
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. “Romans 5:8
“You have searched me, LORD, and you know me.” Psalm 139:1
These scripture verses reveal some powerful and beautiful truths that can provide a whole new level of abiding and resting in God if received and taken into our hearts. I am fully known, and I am fully loved. After many years of being a follower of Jesus, God has given me fresh revelation, and I am finding new freedom and security in Christ. To be fully known and fully loved is not just an intellectual impartation from God to us. The Holy Spirit’s supernatural revelation to our very spirits will radically transform the way we see ourselves, other people, and God Himself.
I am fully known; YET, I am fully loved. God knows everything about me and loves me still. Can your heart grasp this profound truth? Despite every selfish act, impure thought, ignorant action, angry outburst, jealous yearning, and broken promise, God still loves me, God still loves you. God knows every aspect of our lives and our motives, and yet He chose to still lay His life down for us while we were still his enemy.
I invite you to ponder this question with me – How would I live my life differently if I accepted that I am wholly and completely loved? What would change?
I imagine I would begin to see everyone around me a little differently. If my heart could accept that I am unconditionally loved, I no longer need to compare myself to anyone else. Every part of me is accepted and loved by God. I no longer need to strive for perfection. My mistakes are known to Him, and He loves me despite my shortcomings. If my heart could really take hold of this truth, I would live without insecurity and find true freedom.
Wherever I go, whatever I do, I am protected, enveloped, surrounded, shielded, and fortified – I am completely loved. Nothing I have done could change the Father’s love. A love that is so big and secure that He chose to love us anyway, knowing that some would still reject Him.
Imagine turning away from such overwhelming, unconditional love? It seems so illogical, yet don’t we do that in so many ways? When we make decisions that cause harm to ourselves? To others? Or, Holding onto unforgiveness and bitterness?
Embracing God’s overwhelming and unconditional love for us changes everything. If we can receive this truth into our very beings, it can transform our lives and hearts. We will live with new freedom to love ourselves and to love others.
May you rest in this truth today – You are fully known, and YET you are fully loved. You have done nothing that can change the Father’s love.
Lord, may You impart this divine truth and revelation to our hearts. May we embrace Your love with such intensity that it transforms and changes us from the inside out. Help us to love and accept ourselves as being made in Your image and help us to love others with the same unconditional love You have for us. Amen.
