“So do not fear, for I AM with you; do not be dismayed, for I AM your God, I WILL Strengthen you and Help you; I WILL uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NIV (emphasis mine).
Selah! God’s presence is so real! In the tenderness of His heart towards His children, God assures us not to fear and reminds us of His presence, full of love and glory. Let’s reread it! Be still and listen; let the truth of His Word lift our focus up, to behold the One exalted above every situation and circumstance. We fear not because I AM is with us. We are comforted and encouraged to know that we never have to bear our burdens alone or face our enemies alone. Right where you are, God is there; actively Present!
God continues to encourage us not to lose courage because He is our God: the Creator & Sustainer of the universe and everything in it. Let the greatness of who He Is settle in your heart; how great is our God! It is He who has established a covenant relationship with us through Christ Jesus. We are children of the New Covenant.
David understood what being in covenant meant. He and God had a relationship when he was yet a shepherd boy, and David knew God would fight for him as He had done before. In that assurance, David was able to boldly declare to Goliath (giant of fear): “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God” 1 Samuel 17:26 NIV, who is this that has no relationship with God?
As Moses did when he declared to the Israelites: “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14 NIV.
God assures us that He will empower us with the strength to stand when we should fall, to keep on when we should give up, to hold fast to the truth when confronted by reality, and in His All sufficient presence, He will intervene to assist. He lifts us up in support to rise again. His hand of strength is revealed as He defends, protects, delivers and avenges. We have that assurance of His abiding strength: that He will never leave us, never abandon us, never hurt us. Our God is trustworthy and faithful in reaching out to us with His righteous right hand, His hand of Authority, Sovereignty and blessing. Amen
Gracious Heavenly Father, in Your Presence there is fullness of joy, at Your right hand pleasures forevermore (Psalm.16:11), we come together in Your Name knowing Your Presence is right here in our midst. You are fully present, You never leave us nor forsake us, and so our hearts will not fear nor be dismayed (Deuteronomy 31:8), for You, I AM, are our God, majestic in holiness, awesome in power, working wonders.
Our eyes are on You to strengthen us and help us; our hearts are set on You. You have caused Your wonders to be remembered. You are gracious and compassionate. You are a covenant-keeping God, faithful to Your promises in Christ Jesus. Oh Lord God Almighty, my strength, my rock, my fortress and my deliverer. Your right hand, Lord, is majestic in power. With Your righteous right hand, You uphold us. Your right-hand Lord shatters the enemy (Exodus 15:6). Yours, Oh God, is the greatness and power, glory, majesty, and splendour. For all that is in heaven and the earth is Yours. Yours Lord is the kingdom, and You are exalted as head over ALL. Both wealth and honour come from You, and You reign over all. In Your Hands are strength and power to exalt and to give strength to all, and now Lord, we give You thanks and praise Your glorious name forever and ever. (1chronicles 29:11-13). We, the redeemed of the Lord, say so! Amen & Amen
