The Big Con + The Bigger Confidence

God made a beautiful world to be part of a galaxy (now known as The Milky Way) and part of a universe. Genesis Chapter 1 records that God spoke and brought into existence (from nothing) a world full of life and pronounced it as all to be “good.”  In Genesis Chapter 2, we read that God created man and woman “made in His own image “(Gen. 1:27) and placed them in a garden called Eden…

However, in the midst of all this creating, an angry enemy (of God) watched and waited for his opportunity to crush the beauty, steal the souls and destroy what God had made. Lucifer, an archangel, rebelled in the courts of heaven and was wandering to and fro, biding his time to confuse and confound God’s highest creation. He wanted to confiscate and conquer that which belonged to God. Satan, the Swindler, contrived a crafty plan to defraud humankind of comfort, conversation with God and confidence in God. In the beautiful garden, Satan started the biggest con ever; but not a “confidence game” to gain money or fame. He swindles to secure souls for his dark kingdom and to create conflict and chaos on earth.

But God! The Big Con was not unknown to God. Before the foundation of the earth was laid (Rev.13:8), The Godhead convened together and into the conundrum mankind had created for himself, God Himself made a supreme sacrificial concession for sinful man. Christ Jesus agreed to be Our Sacrifice for sin.

What was a Con Game for Satan became a Great and Glorious Goal of God, concealed from our arch enemy. Satan, in contempt, continues to play his games. He does not care one bit for any man, woman or child. Actually, he hates us with powerful intensity. As we move towards the ultimate converging goal of Glory, Satan will increase his desperate attempts to counterfeit God and His gifts. Our Security and Safe Place is belonging and being in Jesus Christ.

But God!  In Christ, God conveyed the limitless measure of His Unconditional (Agape) Love for all humanity. His Character convinces us we can have confidence in Him. What He promised in the garden (Gen. 3:14,15) has been accomplished in the Provision of His Son, Christ Jesus.  God is worthy of our trust, love, worship and devotion. Conjecture and speculation are answered and concluded in Him. The Holy Spirit is Jesus’ confidence with us and within us, conforming us to His likeness.

Let’s consecrate ourselves to the One Who is Worthy. We can approach Him boldly through prayer, with confidence, knowing He loves us unconditionally. He gave His Son as the answer for the penalty of our sin and as the way back to Father God. To Him be the glory and honour forever! Amen.

Where Satan would hold us in shame

Heavenly Father, thank You that You in Trinity

Provided salvation to set us free

Help us to come in confidence bold

Your Glorious Beauty to behold

Refine us Holy Spirit, like purest gold. Amen
