Speak words of life! Recently, it has been emphasized to us how important it is to speak words of life to each other, over ourselves and our circumstances. It’s so exciting to hear that popping up all over the place, confirming this to us. God did this recently in the life of two and touched the heart of one so specifically, showing to the smallest detail that He sees and not only cares but will reach out!
Pastor Rhonda tells us when people come to mind, pay attention, and pray for them; it can be the Holy Spirit prompting us to pray. Recently, a person I knew about ten years ago began coming to mind, and I felt led to pray. I couldn’t remember her name, no matter how hard I tried, but it didn’t matter. God knew.
Then one morning, as soon as I woke, it was like the Lord had written her first and last name on my mind’s eye in capitals, and that is all I could see. With it, He brought a specific memory to mind she’d shared a sadness one day, wishing she were a different Body part (had a different gift) . She couldn’t see the value in the role God had given her to play. I felt prompted at the time to send her a note with what God was pressing on my heart. She was doing what God had given her to do, and she was doing it so beautifully, which was so important.
God was leading me to reach out again and repeat this same message. I prayed. I wasn’t sure about this! I didn’t know if I’d be able to find her, if she was still alive, or if she’d even remember me! But God was being so specific. I knew if He meant for this message to get through, He’d deliver it.
When God is in something, it flows so seamlessly! I found her instantly and the words flowed so easily. I mailed her a card with this same repeated message, and, not long after, I received a card back. Only God! She said she remembered me. After all, she had JUST pulled out that SAME card from ten years ago two weeks earlier because she needed encouragement! Only God! That was about the same time God had started bringing her to mind. Praise God! He is so Kind!
She invited me to phone. What an opportunity to step right into what God was doing! Thank You, God! It was so exciting to hear how this was meaningful to her. How incredible the timing was with all He was doing and how specific He was. What impacted her the most was that GOD SAW HER. So precious! We never know what impact one small act of obedience could have on another person’s life. God could’ve encouraged her directly, but I’m so glad He chose to use another because He used the opportunity to encourage and build up the faith and trust of two persons. Isn’t that just like God? He is so very Kind!
And I had the opportunity to find out – was she still being that active Body part? Yes! Except the latest restrictions have put a pause on things. (Maybe that’s why she was reaching back for that specific assurance God sent her way ten years ago. Maybe she was asking God, ‘does it even matter? Do You still have a place for me?’ And he responded with a resounding, ‘Yes, My child! Yes!’)
I hope this story will speak words of life to someone today. I hope someone will see in this story that God sees THEM. No matter what you are facing, God sees you. He sees your challenges. He sees each tear that falls. Even when we think we’re all alone or maybe even forgotten, He is there. He sees. He cares. He moves! God loves you so very much. And no matter what God has asked you to do, it is important and how you do it is beautiful to God.
Prayer: God, thank you for caring for us so deeply and that You reached out to us. Please open our eyes, Lord, to see You reaching out to us. Help us not to miss it. Thank You that You include us in what You are doing. Thank You for being so GOOD to us. We love You and thank You. Amen!

I’m so encouraged when I hear stories of how God is working in another person’s life. He has done similar things in my life and it builds up my faith to hear how He works in others lives. Thank you so much for sharing.
