We planted; Apollos watered.
I received this vision from God during the Parents Prayer Group on March 8, 2021.
During prayer, I could see rows like in a garden with dark, rich soil. I could see a seed being manually planted into each spot where each child/family would be represented.
I then saw a watering come from above the garden where each seed was planted. Then I heard, “Apollos watered.” The plants began to sprout, and they were a little weak and twisty because of what was fed to them: Things that were not of God, such as anger, hurtful words, harsh feelings, loneliness; then the plants sprung up straight, and this was from the Word of God. They were receiving their growth from God.
Just as 1 Corinthians 3:6 talks about, we plant and water, teach and train up our children in the way they should go, teaching them the word of God, and praying with them. But sometimes, we water with the wrong things, so they aren’t strong. Even so, if we were to put obstacles like a stick or a wall in the path of the plant, it would grow around it with God’s help. These obstacles will not stop the plant from growing because God is the one who makes it grow.
We are to plant and feed with God’s word and trust Him with the outcome. We can try and control them and establish their paths, but God is the only one who can do that. Only He can give them real growth. He is the only one who can make them into who they are supposed to become, and only God can establish their steps, no matter what our plans are. Just like a flower where we cannot tell what it will look like or see its true identity until it blossoms and opens up to become its true self. Then we see its beauty when God shines His light on it, as He does with us.
Salvation does not come from the parents. We are merely servants of God, and He uses us to teach His word and help lead our children to Him so that He may increase their faith. We are to live our lives in such a way that they will see our good works and give glory to our Father in Heaven. They will see through us what it means to be more like Jesus. However, we should not be the focus of their faith – only God.
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” 1 Corinthians 3:6 ESV.
ALLOW GOD TO BE THE FOCUS OF OUR FAITH AND OUR CHILDREN’S AND TRUST THE GROWING TO HIM.
