A Word from the Lord: Keep Going! Don’t Turn Back!
In my prayer time this morning, I had an image of a Base Camp. Here we are gathered at the Base Camp. We are packing our bags, buzzing around in anticipation of the journey we are about to embark on. Some people are double-checking equipment, looking over the map, questioning if they have the stamina, the endurance, the time, or the ability that the journey requires. Some people are standing together, and others are off on their own…waiting and wondering if they have what it takes.
Here we are – all ages, men, women, those who have taken a similar journey and those that haven’t…everyone waiting at the base camp. It is a place of hope, fear, anticipation, and preparation. THE JOURNEY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN. It’s time to move. It’s time to embark. It’s time to take a step. The climb will be easy, and the climb will be hard. Like climbing Everest, we may find ourselves in the valley of Silence and experience discomfort and pressure at times; WE WON’T TURN BACK. Like climbing Everest, we may hit a rocky patch where the terrain is unsteady, and the clouds roll in; WE WON’T TURN BACK. Like climbing Everest, we may feel like we have hit the Deathzone where the fear is so great; feelings that we can never make it, that we will never overcome the strongholds, the pain, the fear, our own limitations; but WE WON’T TURN BACK. For too long, we have watched the Summit from a distance, and now it seems so close; WE WON’T TURN BACK.
We can never forget why we are ascending this mountain so that we never become content with how far we have come. We move toward the Summit, we encourage others who come behind us, and we follow the leading of those ahead. NO, WE WON’T TURN BACK.
“Come let us go to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths.” Isaiah 2:2-3

AMEN!!! We won’t turn back! Just like when we are climbing a mountain, or starting to exercise, we just have to do it to see the results. Same with our Spiritual Disciplines. We just have to do it to see the results of each step. This walk of faith is our Everest as we ascend the hill of the Lord with clean hands and a pure heart! Teach us your ways oh Lord!

Lori BoucherAmen! We won’t turn back. His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9)! He that has begun a good work in us will see it to completion in Jesus’ name (Philippians 1:6). Wherever we find ourselves, He is with us to strengthen us and to show us the way, He says, “this is the way, walk in it”(Isaiah 30:21). Thank You, Jesus.

Lori BoucherI was in the military when I was nineteen, and it was a great learning experience. This training program has the same feel. I’m not sure where to put my feet. The first thing to do is pray.

No turning back for sure, Father God, Lord Jesus, by YOUR STRENGTH, by your GUIDANCE, we will continue to walk this beautiful journey, knowing all along we walk holding hands with YOU. Father God, Lord Jesus, with every step, we love you more. I praise You, i love You, i worship You. There are no words to say how much I love You; here is my heart; it is yours. We all will learn and grow by leaps and bounds by your Grace by your Spirit. There is a worship song of old that says; it’s not by might nor power, but by Your Spirit. I think I am going to enjoy these 6 am studies

I can completely relate to the image and challenges described in this word from God. The whole concept of preparing to ascend, being equipped, is multi-focal: physical training, mental training, equipment, climbing knowledge, endurance, stamina, drive, exertion. But man, once you reach that summit, it is spectacular! Having climbed multiple high peaks in the Adirondaks and missing it since COVID, I now see God bringing forth this challenge, a new summit, the most remarkable summit. One step at a time, sweet Jesus, is what comes to mind. Iona

I really love the metaphor of a base camp; it made me think of a mountain. I believe military imagery is too aggressive for me at times, but the mountain is still a thing to conquer. One foot in front of the other because it will be breathtaking at the top and moments along the way. We won’t be alone, and I’m thankful for that

Nice word Lindsay… thank you.
Climbing the mountain, eyes fixed on Him, tackling obstacles in His strength.

Yes….the climb will be easy, and the climb will be hard….but the journey with Him is SO rewarding. We never turn back and keep our focus on Jesus, who paves the path as we climb… and His Word is our lamp to guide us as we move forward. So Good, Lindsay.

Lindsay, I love your gift of words, how they flow effortlessly to reveal such truth in God’s word. This is very encouraging to remind us that we are in this together, fighting this challenge locked arm in arm. We are united and strong because we have the strength of the Lord at our backs. Our weight may seem heavy at times, but we know we have the means to release these burdens to Jesus, for His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. I feel so privileged to be walking this out with such loving and giving sisters and brothers! Much love to you all xo
